The redi-GO is manufactured by Datsun. It was specially produced keeping the Indian market in mind. This entry-level crossover was unveiled at the Auto Expo 2014. Its production model was later released on 14th April 2016. Since then, the 5-door hatchback has been assembled in Nissan India's plant in Chennai, India. Targeted at a younger market, the Redi-Go uses the same platform as that of Renault Kwid, which is known as the Nissan CMF platform. It competes against the likes of Renault kwid, Hyundai Eon, Hyundai Santro and Maruti Suzuki Alto 800. Post its discontinuation in 2019, the latest facelift is expected to be launched in the later part of 2020 and it will be compliant with the new Bharat Standard emission norms.
