TVS Star City Bike Insurance

The TVS Star City Plus was first introduced at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo. It’s basically an updated version of TVS’ popular bike StaR City. It carries several added features as well as change as now it is available with the electric starter.

The upgradation in Starcity Plus has been inspired by the TVS Phoenix, with whom it shares the platform. The model gets honeycomb-textured side panel grills, a crown visor, a new stainless steel muffler guard as well as new rear-view mirrors.

The bike is powered by a revised 'Ecothrust' 110cc DLI engine that produces 8.3bhp and 8.7Nm of torque. Mated to a four-speed gearbox, the engine is basically capable of returning a fuel efficiency of 86kmpl.

The Star City Plus gets new alloy wheels, colored five-step adjustable shock absorbers, clear lens indicators, and a number plate illuminator. It also has an instrument cluster with an analog speedometer and a digital information display.

This bike by TVS is available in four colors such as celebrity scarlet, oscar black, show stopper blue and titanium grey. It competes against other bikes in the commuter segment like the Mahindra Centuro, Hero Passion XPro, and Honda Dream Yuga among others. The Star City Plus is priced at Rs 47,130 (ex- showroom, Delhi).

Exterior

The styling of the bike is similar to any modern commuter motorcycle with a bikini fairing, single piece headlamp, alloy wheels, sculpted fuel tank and the works. But owing to the snazzy graphics and the use of chrome on the exhaust shield and the 3D logo, the Star City+ is striking for a commuter offering. The Star City+ has an analog dial for the speedometer and a digital fuel gauge along with a service indicator and typical TVS, eco and power mode indicator. The switchgear quality of the motorcycle is fantastic and wouldn’t seem out of place on a more expensive motorcycle. Build quality and the paint finish is also impressive and the bike is solidly put together and this is slowly becoming a hallmark of TVS products. Riding posture is upright in typical commuter fashion while the fuel tank recess means that one can snugly hold the bike with your thighs.

Why to opt?

There are many options that you can explore while buying a bike. But the trust that TVS offers for many years is still unbreakable. You might be looking for great features, and that’s what you get in Star City by TVS. The looks and specification is undoubtedly a deadly combination that you wish to buy.

Interior

Powering the motorcycle is a 110cc displacement motor that generates 8.4PS at 7,000rpm and 8.7Nm at 5,000rpm. Power is transmitted via a 4-speed constant mesh gearbox that performs satisfactorily. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic front forks and hydraulic shock absorbers at the back. The sprung suspension setup means it glides over undulated surfaces, also the bike feels a bit spongy and wallows while cornering at high speeds. Braking is done via drum brake at front and rear and they do a decent job in shedding speeds, but disc brake should have been offered as an option. TVS claims mileage figure of above 65kmpl for the Star City+.

Why To Opt

What you are expecting from your bike- great looks, specifications, mileage and affordable price. Don’t worry, you will get all of them in TVS Star City plus. An affordable price is the plus point of this bike.
