Enlarge ESI coverage: BMS

On Wednesday, the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh has requested the government to enlarge the coverage of Employees State Insurance to laborers under the unorganized sector.

Addressing a gathering in front of the Head Post Office here, T. Thanumoorthy, district president of BMS, said that the construction workers were brought under EPF coverage. He requested that those registered as auto drivers in the welfare board should also be covered under EPF Act. Medical facility under ESIC scheme should be constant even after the retirement of the employees and their family members, he said.
