New Training Module For POSP

A training module for those hopeful to become a Point of Sales Person (POSP) for definite insurance policies has been prepared by the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology.

This comes after the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) recently set eligibility rules for candidates. One of the requirements is to appear for training and pass the examination conducted by the Institute.

Now, the module is ready and available on www.nielit.gov.in/irda, the regulator said NIELIT will  organize training and examination online by charging Rs.500 that will be inclusive of all taxes. It also announced that  in October, the guidelines on POSP – non-life and health insurers as part of events to facilitate insurance penetration and density.

“These guidelines will enable individuals having passed at least 10th or 12th standard to solicit and market simple and pre-underwritten policies.”
