Under a new scheme, an insured person can book appointments online in select hospitals.
On Tuesday, Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment Bandaru Dattatreya said that India is now coming of age in the field of medical care in harnessing technology and increasing infrastructure for reasonable healthcare. In India, ESIC is the only social security organisation that offers several benefits to policyholders and nominees covered. ESIC has so far set up 151 hospitals and 1,459 dispensaries. It is modernizing and continuously improving facilities.
With the launch of ESIC 2.0, there are services such as medical helpline for emergencies and looking for guidance.
Recently it launched a website that facilitates insured persons to book meetings online in 36 hospitals. In the last year, the Government has started several actions to bring in effectiveness, simplicity and accountancy in ESIC operation. ESIC has also introduced e-governance in several ways. Now, contributions can be made by net banking easily.
