It has come into the operations as per the provision of the Motor Vehicle Act of 1988. Transport Commissioner supervises all the activities of Ludhiana RTO.

Tasks & Operations of Ludhiana RTO

  1. Ludhiana RTO is responsible for collecting the Vehicle Excise duty. These taxes are levied based on the types of vehicles.

  5. Issuing Learning License to the beginners in driving. This is issued to let people drive with ease. However, its valid only for the period of 6 months. After that tenure, it is must to have the driving license.
  6. Managing entire Driving License Process. Ludhiana RTO can issue the driving license in a day if paperwork is up to the mark and driving tests are successful.
  7. Ludhiana RTO is authorized to issue the driving license at the time of renewal as well.
  8. Facilitating people with International driving tests and permits.
  9. Implementation of Motor Vehicle Act of 1988.
  10. Providing required permits for cargo and commercial vehicles.
  11. NOC issuance and Validation.
  12. Issuing Vehicle Registration Copy and managing the entire process.
  13. Conducting the required driving tests.
