Overseas Travel Insurance

Student Travel Insurance

  • Your quote will be now generated and a list of different plans along with their premiums will be displayed. You need to select the desired plan and then click on ‘Continue to buy’.
  • Now on the new page, you will need to fill more details about your trip such as whether you are traveling on an immigration visa, the country of travel, journey start date, end date, etc. After filling in all the details carefully, click on ‘Next’, and you will be directed to a new page.

Claims Procedure

Claim Intimation:

As soon as the unexpected event occurs, the insured needs to intimate the company (within 24 hours of the occurrence of the claim). Following are the basic details that the company will request:

  • Policy number
  • Name of the insured person
  • Your current contact number
  • Permanent contact number & email id (mandate)
  • Diagnosis (in case of medical cases)
  • Place and country of loss
  • Provider name
  • Contact details and the name of the caller (in case the person intimating the claim is not the insured)
  • Date & Time of the accident
  • Brief description of the loss

Worldwide Cashless Facility:

If the insured wants to submit a claim to avail cashless facility, then (s)he needs to call the numbers provided on the website or the international toll-free numbers for further processing.


If the insured intends to file a claim for reimbursement of his/her losses, (s)he needs to submit the claim form along with all the necessary documents to the company. Following are the basic documents that need to be submitted for medical accidents and sickness reports:

Reliance Travel Insurance : FAQ’s

1. Is there an automatic extension of policies in case of medical emergencies?

Yes, in case of medical emergencies and evacuations, the policy will be extended for up to 30 days and 7 days in case of common carrier delays.

2. What are the exclusions under the Reliance Travel Insurance?

The following are the exclusions under the policy:

  • Pre-existing medical conditions (unless it is life-threatening)
  • Travelling against doctor’s advice
  • Travelling while on a waiting list for medical treatment abroad
  • Travelling while under prognosis for terminal illness

3. Do I need to notify the police if I encounter a road accident during my trip?

4. If I lose my passport, do I need to contact the Indian embassy before filing a claim for it?

Yes, if you lose your passport, you need to immediately notify the local police and contact the Indian embassy for a duplicate passport and complete all the necessary formalities.

5. Is Reliance Travel Insurance only for personal travels? Or are they available for business travelers as well?
