The HDFC ERGO Optima Secure Global plan offers vital and extended coverage both within and outside India, providing comprehensive protection without geographical boundaries. It is a variant of the HDFC ERGO Optima Secure health plan, available in two options: Optima Secure Global and Optima Secure Global Plus. This overview focuses on the HDFC ERGO Optima Secure Global variant, available for both individuals and families.
The plan offers a sum insured ranging from INR 1 Crore to 2 Crores, covering hospitalization expenses, pre and post-hospitalization care, organ donor expenses, AYUSH treatment, emergency ambulance, air ambulance, e-opinion for 51 critical illnesses, and more. These benefits cover medical expenses incurred both within and outside India, without additional charges. However, the treatment cost incurred must not exceed the base sum insured of your policy (unless you opt for the Plus variant) for treatment in India and overseas.
An aggregate deductible option is available for treatments within India, but not for overseas treatments.
Policyholders can opt for various add-on covers to enhance their coverage. Available add-on covers include:
Provides coverage for 51 critical illnesses with a sum insured from INR 10 Lakhs up to INR 2 Crores (in multiples of INR 1 Lakh).
Offers an additional sum insured benefit from INR 500 up to INR 10,000 to cover daily hospital expenses.
Provides a lump sum payout in case of accidental death, permanent partial disability, or permanent total disability. The payout can be up to 5 times the sum insured, with a maximum of INR 1 Crore.
Offers unlimited restoration benefits during the policy year (the base sum insured increases by 50% on every renewal).
Additionally, an optional Overseas Travel Secure add-on cover is available with this Global plan. This cover includes the insured individual's travel expenses and accommodation for an accompanying person (if any) for overseas treatment. Opting for an aggregate deductible provides a discount ranging from INR 25,000 to INR 5 Lakhs (applicable only in India).
The HDFC ERGO Optima Secure Global Health Insurance plan also features a 4-level sum insured restoration benefit:
Base Health Cover
If you select a sum insured of INR 1 Crore, the base sum insured will cover your medical expenses as issued.
Secure Benefit (2X Coverage)
Upon policy inception, your sum insured doubles to INR 2 Crores, extending coverage benefits without extra cost. This benefit is available only in India, not overseas.
Plus Benefit (Cumulative Bonus)
The sum insured increases by 50% on the first renewal after one policy year, and by 100% on the second renewal after two policy years.
Restoration Benefit (Unlimited)
If a claim is made during any policy year that exhausts the base sum insured of INR 1 Crore, the sum insured will be automatically restored for subsequent claims within the same tenure.
Note: A deductible of INR 10,000 applies to every claim made outside India for overseas treatment, except for e-opinion on critical illnesses.
