1. Family Medicare 2014 Policy

Family medicare is a family health insurance plan that offers the required financial cover to all family members under a single sum assured. Under the plan, you can cover self, spouse and dependent children. The age of the primary member should be between 18 and 80 years.

Key Features

Hospitalization Cover: The plan offers coverage against hospitalisation expenses that includes:

  • Room, nursing expenses, nursing care, RMO charges, fluids/blood transfusion/injection administration charges and associated expenses.
  • If the insured or any member gets admitted to the ICU unit, the plan will pay up to 2% of the Sum Insured per day or actual amount.
  • Anaesthetist, surgeon, medical practitioner, specialists fees, consultants, blood, operation theatre charges, oxygen, surgical appliances, medicines & drugs, dialysis, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, cost of artificial limbs, cost of prosthetic devices implanted during surgical procedure like a pacemaker, infra cardiac valve replacements, orthopaedic implants, relevant laboratory diagnostic tests, X-ray, vascular stents, and related expenses which are required for the treatment.
  • The plan offers cover against all hospitalisation expenses (excluding the cost of organ, if any) incurred for the donor in respect of organ transplant to the insured.

Pre and Post-Hospitalization: The plan also offers the required financial cover against pre-hospitalization (30 days before the hospitalization) and post-hospitalization (60 days after getting discharged). This is great to get cover for all associated expenses of the treatment.

Second Opinion: In case the insured requires the second opinion, the plan will also provide coverage for the same.

Daycare Treatment: The plan is great at offering coverage against day care procedures which do not require 24 hours hospitalization.

Ayurvedic Treatment: It covers ayurvedic treatment that takes place at any government hospital or in any institute which is recognized by the government and/or accredited by the Quality Council of India/National Accreditation Board on Health.

2. United India Gold Health Insurance Policy

The United India Gold plan covers hospitalization expenses that occur out of the treatment of illness/disease sustained by the insured during the policy tenure.

Key Features

Hospitalization Expenses: The plan offers coverage against all hospitalization expenses associated with your treatment. It offers coverage against-

  • Room, nursing expenses and boarding charges which are not exceeding 1% of the sum assured or the actual cost.
  • ICU expenses which are not exceeding 2% of the sum assured or the actual price.

Domiciliary Hospitalization: The plan covers all expenses that occur when the policyholder opts to get the required treatment at home. It can be done on the advice of the doctor as well.

Pre and Post-Hospitalization: The plan also covers all pre and post-hospitalization. 30 days before hospitalisation and 60 days after getting discharged are the tenures which will be liable to get the required financial cover.

8. United Health Criticare Policy

United Health Criticare is exclusively designed for specific critical diseases which are not liable to get the required insurance coverage under a basic plan.

Claim Process

United India Insurance understands the need for claim settlement in the hour of need. Hence the team offers a simple and hassle-free claim process. It has come out with two different ways of claim settlement- Cashless and Reimbursement. Let's discuss them in detail.

Cashless: Here the insured can avail the required treatment at the network hospital without paying anything from his/her pocket. The insurance company or the TPA will deal with all the costs associated with the treatment and pay to the hospital directly. The insured can relax and focus on the treatment only.

Time-limit: You have to inform the company within 48 hours of emergency hospitalization and three days before in case of the planned one.

Reimbursement: The other process is called reimbursement under which you have to deal with all the medical bills associated with the treatment at the first space. Then after getting treated, you can easily file for the claim and can get the reimbursement. The company first examines all the documents and checks the authenticity of the claim and as per the procedure, it will settle the claim and inform you through call, letter or an e-mail. In case the company rejects your application, you will get a document or email stating the reason behind the same. In case of approval, the company will directly transfer the amount in your registered bank account.

Time-limit: You need to inform the company as soon as you get discharged and have all the required documents with you.

Documents Required For Filing A Claim

  • Discharge card/documents provided by the hospital/ nursing home from where you have got the treatment.
