Claim Process of United India Health Insurance

United India Insurance understands the need for claim settlement in the hour of need. Hence, the company offers a simple and hassle-free claim process. It has come out with two different ways of claim settlement- Cashless and Reimbursement.

Cashless Claims:

Cashless claims can only be availed if the insured is admitted to the network hospitals. Here the insured can avail of the required treatment without paying anything from his/her pocket. The insurance company or the TPA will deal with all the costs associated with the treatment and pay the hospital directly. Let's look at the below procedure to avail cashless claims:

  1. Upon hospitalization, be it planned or unplanned, intimate the company with details of the name and address of the hospital.
  2. The hospital will then send a pre-authorisation request (duly signed by the insured and hospital authorities) to the TPA giving the details of admission, illness, proposed line of treatment, and the estimated expenses.
  3. If the request is approved, the TPA will handle the treatment expenses of the insured.
  4. On discharge, pay the amount disallowed by the policy or limited by the SI.

Reimbursement Claims:
Here you have to deal with all the medical bills associated with the treatment in the first space. Then after getting treated, you can easily file for the claim and can get the reimbursement. Let's look at the below procedure to avail reimbursement claims.

  1. Immediately intimate the company about hospitalisation. In case of emergency hospitalisation, inform within 24 hours.
  2. Once treated, ensure that you have all the necessary documents (in original) to be submitted to TPA /company within 7 days from the date of discharge. Documents required are:
    • Claim form issued by the insurer.
    • Discharge summary of the hospital.
    • Doctor's certificates and prescriptions.
    • Final hospital bills.
    • Laboratory and other investigation reports and bills.
    • Pharmacy bills and all related documents.
  3. The company will examine all the documents and check the authenticity of the claim as per the procedure.
  4. If approved, the company will inform you and directly transfer the amount to the registered bank account.
