2. Family Plus

Family Plus is a comprehensive health insurance plan that covers large families at an affordable price. Under the same, the insured can cover up to 19 relationships. The exclusive feature of this plan is that it will offer an individual sum insured apart from a floater sum insured and reload benefit to each insured member of the family.

  • In-patient cover: The plan offers coverage against inpatient hospitalization up to the sum insured limit. It covers Ayush treatment as well. Even the plan covers domiciliary hospitalisation under which you are allowed to take the treatment at home.

Royal Sundaram Health Insurance Claims Process

The claim is a very important part of any insurance policy. If you cannot get the benefit of your insurance policy in the time of requirement, what is the use of such policy? All claims for the following 4 benefits will be serviced through the Europe Assistance India Pvt. Ltd -

  1. Second opinion for 11 Critical Illness.
  2. Emergency domestic evacuation.
  3. Worldwide emergency hospitalization.
  4. International treatment for 11 specified critical illnesses

While all claims for benefits (other than the above 4) will be serviced through Paramount Health Services & Insurance TPA Pvt.Ltd.

Royal Sundaram Health Insurance allows the insured to file claims in two different ways which are mentioned below.

  • Cashless claim process- Here the treatment must be done only at the network hospital of the Royal Sundaram Health insurance company servicing your policy. Under the same, the insured can easily get the required treatment without paying anything from his/her pocket. The company will directly pay for the treatment to the hospital.
  • Reimbursement Process - Here the insurance company has to pay at the first place and then file for reimbursement as per their prescribed procedures. For the same, it is important for the insured to keep all documents, bills and prescriptions ready with him as the insurance company will ask for the same.

Claim Process - Cashless Service for Domestic Claims

  1. In the case of planned hospitalization, the insured have to intimate the Third Party Associate (TPA). It is important and crucial to seek for the cashless authorization at least 72 hours prior to the hospitalization of the insured.
  2. If the insured has to be admitted in event of any emergency hospitalization, it is very important to inform the TPA within 24 hours of the hospitalization.
  3. After this, it is important to submit the cashless claim form along with the relevant documents. Make sure you are informing the company about the same within the prescribed tenure. Later, the company or TPA will examine the whole case and check the required documents after which it will share the result. In case it gets approved the company will directly deal with bills, you don't have to worry about the same.
  4. You have to immediately make the payment of the non-medical charges and for the expenses which are not covered to the hospital prior to the discharge of the insured.
  5. In case of the rejection of the application, the concerned person would receive a rejection letter within 2 hours in case your ailment or treatment is not covered under the health insurance plan. One can apply for a reimbursement claim in case of rejection of the cashless claim.

Claim Procedure for Cashless facility for the Worldwide Emergency Hospitalization

  1. You have to inform the Royal Sundaram Health Insurance within 24 hours of hospitalization.
  2. Your eligibility as per the request made would be verified by the service provider and you will receive a call for more information or details if required.
  3. The Royal Sundaram Health Insurance provider will get in touch with the same hospital immediately in case the pre-authorization request has been approved or denied.
  4. In case of approval of the pre-authorization request, your bill will be settled directly with the hospital by the service provider. Royal Sundaram Health Insurance can also decline the request after rechecking everything.
  5. Any other additional charges approved by the service provider would be paid by the insured.

Claim Procedure for Reimbursement

One has to submit the reimbursement claim form (duly filled and signed) which needs to be sent to the Royal Sundaram Health Insurance within 30 days from the date of discharge of the insured.

  1. In case of any discrepancy in the documents or the information submitted by the insured, he/she will receive a deficiency letter within the 7 days from the date of receipt of the documents from Royal Sundaram Health Insurance
  2. If there is no deficiency of the received documents, then the Royal Sundaram Health Insurance would make the payment of the admissible amount within 30 days as per the policy terms and conditions of the health insurance plan.
  3. The payment will be made in the name of the proposer.
