Eligibility Criteria to Avail Claim for AYUSH Cover

  • 24 Hours Hospitalisation

    One needs to be hospitalized for at least 24 hours to claim coverage.
  • Treatment at Government/ Government Recognised Hospital

    One can get coverage against the AYUSH cover only if the treatment is received at a government hospital or an institution recognised by the government.
  • Hospital under Quality Council of India

    One can also avail coverage if the treatment is available in any hospital that is accredited by the Quality Council of India.
  • Recognised AYUSH Colleges

    Treatments taken in AYUSH colleges recognised by the Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM) or the Central Council of Homeopathy (CCH) are also covered under AYUSH.

What is not Covered?- Exclusions

Treatment at Non Government Hospital

Any treatment received in a non-government hospital is excluded.

Daycare Treatments

Treatments which require less than 24 hours of hospitalization are excluded from the coverage.

Outpatient Medical Expenses

Expenses related to treatments for people who visit hospitals or clinics for check-ups & diagnosis, but do not need hospitalisation; are excluded from coverage under AYUSH.

Rejuvenation Procedures

The policy does not include spas, body massages or any health rejuvenation procedures, which are not medically required.

Cosmetic Procedures

The policies do not include Ayurvedic beauty treatments, that are considered for aesthetic purposes rather than medical necessity.

Experimental Treatment

Procedures done under AYUSH that are considered experimental will not be covered under the insurance policy.

Pre-existing conditions

If there are any pre-existing conditions, the policy will not cover the cost of AYUSH treatment for that disease.

Claim Settlement for AYUSH Treatment

You can avail of cashless claim settlement for network hospitals or service providers and apply for reimbursement claim settlement if you go for the non-network hospital/service providers. You can follow the steps below for a smooth claim settlement process:
