National Insurance Mediclaim Policy is a traditional health insurance plan that provides comprehensive coverage to policyholders. This plan was launched by the National Insurance Company to offer financial comfort to the insured during a medical emergency. The Policy provides for pre-hospitalisation (45 days) and post-hospitalisation (60 days) expenses, over 140 daycare procedures, organ donor medical expenses, ambulance charges, morbid obesity treatment, and correction of refractive error. It also provides for reinstatement of the basic Sum Insured (above an SI of ₹6 Lakhs), if applicable as per terms. For younger individuals seeking affordable and extensive health coverage, the insurer also offers the National Young India Mediclaim Policy, designed to meet the needs of the youth.
