Atal Amrit Abhiyan: A New-Age Healthcare Initiative
Over the years, both state and central governments in India have launched numerous healthcare initiatives. Popular government health insurance schemes like Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana, and Employment State Insurance Scheme aim to protect the financially weaker sections of society.
Similarly, to safeguard Below Poverty Line (BPL) and Above Poverty Line (APL) families financially during unforeseeable medical emergencies, the Government of Assam launched the 'Atal Amrit Abhiyan' health insurance scheme.
Originally launched on December 25, 2016, the scheme provides coverage against life-threatening ailments such as cancer, cardiovascular diseases, and more. It offers annual coverage of INR 2 lakh along with cashless hospitalization for critical illnesses. To register your family under the Atal Amrit Abhiyan Scheme, visit the official website of the Assam Government.
