An insurance claim is a formal request to the insurance provider for reimbursement against losses covered under your insurance policy. A health insurance claim status inquiry is a communication between an insurer and a policyholder regarding a health claim.
IFFCO-Tokio Claim Process
This section discusses the claim process and how to check claim status. You can file an IFFCO-Tokio Health Insurance claim in two ways: Cashless Claim or Reimbursement Claim.
The procedures are outlined below.
Cashless Claims
Cashless claim facilities are available only at IFFCO-Tokio Health Insurance's network hospitals. A cashless claim settlement helps pay hospital bills instantly. It is advisable to confirm the network status of a hospital with the company's TPA before admission. You can also contact their Third Party Administrator (TPA) via their helpline numbers, quoting your membership number from your health card.
How to File Your Cashless Claims
- Step 1: Get admitted to an IFFCO-Tokio Health Insurance network hospital.
- Step 2: Notify IFFCO-Tokio Health Insurance about the hospitalization. For planned hospitalizations, inform the insurer prior to admission.
- Step 3: Fill out the pre-authorization form and submit it to the hospital. The hospital will send it to IFFCO-Tokio Health Insurance for approval. Once approved, you can avail medical treatment.
- Step 4: At discharge, complete all medical documents and pay for services not covered by the policy.
- Step 5: The hospital will send the bills to IFFCO-Tokio Health Insurance. After review, the company will pay the bill directly to the hospital.
Reimbursement Claims
With reimbursement claims, you can seek treatment at any hospital, not limited to the insurer's cashless network. You pay for the treatment upfront and then apply for reimbursement from your insurer. To make a claim, you must submit all original hospital bills, prescriptions, and medical documents to the company.
How to File Your Reimbursement Claims
- Step 1: Inform IFFCO-Tokio Health Insurance within two days of your admission. The company will send you a link to upload soft copies of all original documents (bills, reports, etc.) along with your bank details.
- Step 2: Sign all documents before uploading.
- Step 3: Upload the documents within 30 days from the date of discharge or receipt of the link.
- Step 4: Payment will be processed within 30 days of receiving the last necessary claim document.
