Established in 2016, ACKO General Insurance is a newly introduced private sector general insurance company in India. It adopts a completely online-based method for selling its products to the customers. The company deals in a variety of insurance products ranging from health insurance plans to car, and bike insurance products.

The company has a good claim settlement ratio of 93.6% . The claim settlement process and keeping the track of claim status of Acko General Insuance is a simple and hassle-free process. Lets discuss about claims and the process to check the claim status in detail in the following sections.
When you make a claim on an insurance policy, you are formally notifying the insurance company that you have suffered a loss or damage that you believe is covered by the policy and you are requesting the recovery of these losses incurred. To put simply, you are asking to monetize your health insurance from your insurer through filing claims.
There are two types of claims offered by the company.
Through this claim process the insurance company settles the medical bill directly with the hospital.
The process of filing cashless claims
Step 1 Get hospitalized in any of the network hospitals empanelled with Acko Health Insurance.
Step 2 Show your health card to the hospital authorities.
Step 3 Duly fill out the cashless request form and submit it to the hospital.
Step 4 After verification, the company will issue a pre-authorization letter to the hospital.
Step 5 At the time of discharge, the insured person has to verify and sign all the medical bills and pay for any non-medical and inadmissible expenses.
Through this process the policyholders are required to clear their medical expenses arising out of hospitalisation out of their own pocket and then raise a reimbursement claim by submitting proper medical bills and documents.
The Process of filing Reimbursement Claims
Step 1 You can file a reimbursement claim if you are not able to get admitted to the network hospitals.
Step 2 Get yourself treated, and settle all the medical bills at the time of discharge.
Step 3 Collect all the documents provided by the hospital such as discharge summary and payment receipts.
Step 4 Submit all the documents to the ACKO company.
The company will send timely updates to the policyholder on his registered mobile number or email id about the progress of his claim. If not, you can check the status of your ACKO Health Insurance Claim by following the steps given below.
There are two ways to check the claim status of Acko Health Insurance.They are:
Step 1 Visit the Acko Health insurance Website.
Step 2 Click on login. Enter your mobile number, the OTP will be sent to your registered number.
Step 3 Enter the required details in the form, such as name, accident location (if known), phone number, date of the accident, email address, registration number, address, claim receipt/ file number, policy number, date of birth, etc.
Step 4 Fill all the details click on ‘Submit’ and the current status of your Acko Health Insurance claim will be displayed
Customers may need to know the status of their policy in several situations, such as: Verify the premium payment deadline. To verify the grace period. To assess fund performance while dealing with ULIPs. To verify the premium payment window. To compare the effectiveness of various policies (in case one has more than one insurance policy).
It can take as little as 7-8 days, and up to more than 30 days. It totally depends on the company and the product you are purchasing.
Policyholders typically want information about all claims within the past three to five years, including their value. During the three to five years an accident or another claim remains on your insurance record.
If ‘cashless hospitalization’ is denied by Reliance Health Insurance/TPA then follow these steps: Settle the hospital bills in full as required. Collect all the original bill documents and reports at the time of discharge. Lodge your claim with RCare Health /TPA for processing and reimbursement.
