Reliance General Insurance and Reliance Health Insurance Company was established in the year 2000 and since then, they have been providing various services in the insurance sector. Their comprehensive insurance plans range from individual health insurance plans to families.

Reliance Health Insurance Company is one of the leading names in India’s insurance sector with its health insurance boasting a 98% claim settlement ratio, more than 8600 cashless hospitals, and provides coverage up to Rs.1 crore.

Reliance Health Insurance provides a simple claim process to assist the policyholder during medical emergencies. It has divided the process into two forms- Cashless and Reimbursement. Let's discuss both types of claims in detail.

Cashless

Under this form of claim settlement, the insured has the freedom to take the needful treatment at any network hospital. The best thing about this plan is that after submitting the required documents along with a claim form to Reliance Health Insurance Company or TPA present at the network hospital, the customer doesn't have to worry about making payments. Reliance Health Insurance Company or TPA will directly deal with the bills associated with the treatment.

So, to make your claim process fast and smooth, Reliance Health Insurance serves health insurance customers through Reliance Health Insurance Company in-house health claims unit. Reliance Health Insurance also has appointed a Third Party Administrator (TPA) desk duly licensed by IRDA for the same.

Cashless Claim Facility Process for Emergency Hospitalization

Step 1: After getting admitted into the hospital, obtain the pre-authorisation form from the hospital, get the form filled in and signed by the attending doctor and hospital authority and fax/email the pre-authorisation form to the Reliance Health Insurance/TPA along with necessary medical details.

Step 2: Reliance Health Insurance Company will verify and sign all the bills. Leave the original discharge summary and other investigation reports with the hospital and retain a photocopy for your records.

Please note that at the time of discharge, you will be required to pay for expenses that are not payable as per the terms and condition of the policy.

Cashless Claim Facility Process for Planned Hospitalization

Step 1: Send all the details about the planned hospitalization to Reliance Health Insurance Company two days before your hospitalization(including the plan of treatment, cost estimates etc).

Step 2: Show the authorisation letter and photo ID card to the hospital at the time of admission, hospital authority will Fax/Email the pre-authorisation form to the Reliance Health Insurance Company /TPA along with necessary medical details.

Step 3: Reliance Health Insurance will verify all the details. Leave the original discharge summary and other investigation reports with the hospital and retain a photocopy for your records.

Reimbursement Claim Facility Process for Emergency Hospitalization

Step 1: Customer gets admitted into the hospital. Intimate the claim at customer care or via an email as soon as possible.

Step 2: After treatment, settle the hospital bill as required. Collect all the original bills, documents and reports at the time of discharge.

Step 3: Lodge your claim with Reliance Health Insurance Company /TPA for further processing and reimbursement, by filling in the claim form and attaching required documents as mentioned in the claim form.

Reimbursement Claim Facility Process for Planned Hospitalization

Step 1: Intimate Reliance Health Insurance Company/TPA of the planned hospitalization.

Step 2: Get admitted into the hospital. Settle the hospital bills in full as required and collect all the original bills, documents and reports at the time of discharge.

Step 3: Lodge your claim with Reliance Health Insurance Company/TPA for further processing and reimbursement.

How to Check the Reliance Health Insurance Claim Status

Reliance Health Insurance Company offers two ways to check the claim status of the policy. One can either go online or choose an offline way to check their status. In the below section, check out both ways of checking your claim status:

Online Method

The process of checking Reliance Health Insurance Company claims is very permissive. To check the claim status online here are the following steps.

Step 1: Visit the Reliance Health Insurance Company's official website.

Step 2: Now Select 'Track Claim'.

Step 3: It will redirect you to a new page where you provide Policy Number/Claim Number and Date Of Admission

Step 4: Now click on the 'Track Now'. This will display your cashless claim status.

Offline Method

Step 1: By phone or email: If you need help keeping track of the status of your insurance policy, you may contact the insurance company's customer service line. If you have a claim-related question or issue, you can also write to Reliance Health Insurance Company.

Step 2: By visiting the Branch Office: You may use the website to search for the Reliance Health Insurance Company's nearest branch office and locate it there. Make sure you bring the documentation with you when you visit their office.

Step 3: Through SMS: You may also keep track of the status of your insurance policy with the SMS service. Using the SMS number supplied by the insurer, you may check the progress of your claim under your Reliance Health Insurance policy. The same method may be used to determine additional insurance information, such as the claim number, policy number, etc.

1. What Information to be kept ready while intimating the claim in Reliance Healthcare Insurance ?

2. How to file a claim for a critical illness?

In case of any diagnosis with a critical illness, the company must be notified within 7 days of the first diagnosis of disease/illness with the date of all the surgical procedures. The following details are to be provided to the company at the time of intimation of Claim: Policy Number Name of the Policyholder Name of the Insured Person in whose relation the Claim is being lodged Nature of Illness / Injury Name and address of the attending Medical Practitioner and Hospital Date of Admission Any other information as requested by the Company

3. Till how many days is the list of claim documents accepted by Reliance Health Insurance Company?

In case of any claim for the Insured Events the list of documents as mentioned below shall be provided by the Policyholder/Insured Person, immediately but not later than 15 days of discharge from the hospital.

4. What if in claim process ‘cashless hospitalization’ is denied by Reliance Health Insurance/TPA?

If ‘cashless hospitalization’ is denied by Reliance Health Insurance/TPA then follow these steps: Settle the hospital bills in full as required. Collect all the original bill documents and reports at the time of discharge. Lodge your claim with RCare Health /TPA for processing and reimbursement.
