Ladli Laxmi Yojana is a financial assistance plan designed specifically for girl children in Madhya Pradesh by the state government. It is a financial aid plan to fund the education and marriage of the state’s girl children and support them during their education. The plan aims towards the overall development of the girl child. The plan was launched in May of 2007. This is a child insurance plan which was launched for girl children who belong to a low-income family and can not afford quality education or marriage expenses.

The Ladli Laxmi Yojana was launched by then Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chauhan and is currently functional in states of U.P, Bihar, Delhi, Haryana, Jharkhand, Goa, and Chattisgarh. The scheme benefits all girl children born after 1st January 2006 who fall under the non-tax paying bracket and are female orphans.

  • Families who wish to avail of the scheme must make sure that their girl child is registered in the local Anganwadi center.

  • Families are eligible for the scheme who have less than two or two children. Family planning must be adopted after the birth of a second child.

  • Girls born to female inmates in a prison are also eligible for Ladli Laxmi Yojana.

  • Under this scheme, the girl child receives an Assurance Certificate Of INR 1,18,000/- which is issued by the government in the name of the girl child.
  • INR 2,000 is offered to the girl child covered under the scheme on her admission in class 6th.
  • INR 4,000 is offered to the girl child covered under the scheme on her admission in class 9th.
  • INR 6,000 is offered to the girl child covered under the scheme on her admission in class 11th.
  • INR 6,000 is offered to the girl child covered under the scheme on her admission in class 12th.
  • Under the Ladli Laxmi Yojana girl children are provided with an incentive amount of INR 25,000 in 2 equal installments In the first And last year Of the course after taking admission in any graduate course.

  • The final payment of INR 1 Lac will be done on completion of 21 years of age of the girl child.
