Mukhyamantri Amrutum Yojana

Mukhyamantri Amrutum Yojna is one of the most effective Health Yojanas by Mukhyamantri. On September 4, 2012, the Mukhyamantri Amrutum Yojana scheme was launched by the government of Gujarat. It is one of the most beneficial Health Insurance Yojnas for low-income families, which provides Health Insurance to people Below the Poverty Line (BPL) or who come from a lower-income group or a middle-class family. This is a comprehensive Health Insurance plan that covers the whole medical emergency cycle, from diagnostic tests to post-hospitalization treatment.

Mukhyamantri Amrutum Yojana (MA Yojana) offers various benefits to people. Some of these are:

  • State FundedIt is a fully state-funded scheme, you don’t have to pay any amount for the benefit of the scheme.

Benefits of Mukhyamantri Amrutum Yojana

  • Sum Assured

    The Sum assured is up to INR 3,00,000 per family per annum on a family floater basis. Kidney Transplant, Liver Transplant, Kidney + Pancreas Transplant procedures are covered with benefits up to INR 5,00,000 under scheme.

  • Vast Coverage- 698 Diseases

    All beneficiaries can avail cashless quality medical and surgical treatment for 698 pre-defined illnesses like Cardiovascular diseases, Renal diseases, Neurological diseases, Burns, Poly-Trauma, Cancer (Malignancies), Neonatal (newborn) diseases, Knee & Hip Replacement & Kidney, Liver and Kidney + Pancreas Transplantation. Follow-ups for these defined illnesses are also covered under the policy.

  • Medical Procedures

    Knee and Hip replacement procedures are covered with a cap of INR 40,000/ - per one replacement. Additional costs will be borne by the beneficiary.

  • Travel Expenses

    The policy covers travel expenses of INR 300 on availing of hospitalization at the Network Hospital.

  • Death Allowance

    The policy pays INR 6 per kilometer from the hospital to the beneficiary's home for the cost of repatriation of remains.

  • Same Benefits as PMJAY

    The policy offers all the benefits underAyushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan ArogyaYojana (PMJAY).

  • Miscellaneous Expenses

    The policy also covers other expenses like Admission charges, Diagnostics, Surgery, Medicines, Food for the patient, Admission expenses, Hospital Registration, Travel expenses, and Post-Surgery Follow-up Expenses.

Eligibility Criteria

Mukhyamantri Amrutum Yojana

To enroll in this scheme, you must fulfill these eligibility criteria:

  • Specific Annual IncomeThe MA Amrutam Yojana is only available to families with low annual incomes. You may not be able to enroll in the plan if your annual income exceeds a pre-decided amount or if you do not work in a specified occupation.
  • Below the Poverty Line (BPL)The State Government has created a list of the families which come under ‘Below Poverty Line’ list. To be enrolled in the MA Yojana, names of all the family members must be present in the list.

Mukhyamantri Amrutum Vatsal Yojana (Extension of Mukhyamantri Amrutum Yojana)

If you want to enroll in this scheme then you have to fulfill these eligibility criteria:

  • Families with an annual income of up to INR 400K are eligible to avail of this scheme.
  • ASHA WorkersAccredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) workers
  • Class 3 and Class 4 employees are employed by the state government at a fixed pay.
  • U-win cardholders
  • Senior citizens from families with annual income up to INR 600K each year.

What Is Not Covered?

Mukhyamantri Amrutum Yojana covers a large number of Medical Treatments. The scheme is created for low-income families, so there is no specific exclusion. However, the following treatments may not be covered under this scheme:

  • Cosmetic Treatment like Plastic Surgery
  • Non-emergency procedures

How To Enrol for Mukhyamantri Amrutum Yojana

A family member must visit the kiosk at the Taluka or civic center in the area to enroll in the Mukhyamantri Amrutum Yojana. There are also mobile kiosks at the local level.

Biometrics, such as iris scans and fingerprints as well as the pictures of all the family members are taken for the enrollment procedure. In addition to this, the person who will be insured must fill an application form in Gujarati and submit the required document. The Mukhyamantri Amrutum Yojana card is given to the beneficiary after verifying all the details.

When visiting the Nodal agency, the person who is getting enrolled under this scheme should have the following documents:

  • Address Proof like Ration Card
  • Identification documents like Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, PAN Card, etc.
  • Below Poverty Line Certification
  • Income Certificate

The Mukhyamantri Amrutum Vatsalya App can be downloaded from the Google Play Store for an Android phone. There are a few useful apps for MA Yojana that contain information such as Hospital lists, contact information, and scheme features, etc. In case of a medical emergency, this app can assist you in locating your nearest impaneled hospital.

How To Claim MA Yojana?

The claim process of Mukhyamantri Amrutum Yojana is simple and easy. There is no need to arrange any documentation before filing a claim. The verification process will start once the member of this plan submits the QR card to a Network Hospital. The treatment can begin immediately after a quick verification, and the patient does not have to wait. Moreover, these claims are cashless. This reduces the patients' and their families' financial burdens.

The impaneled hospital will send details of the hospital stay to the government of Gujarat after the treatment is completed. Mukhyamantri Amrutum Yojana members are not required to investigate the information that has been shared by the hospital. The govt. of Gujrat will settle the claim with the hospital directly.

How To Renew MA Yojana Smart Health Card?

The beneficiaries can get their MAA Amrutam Smart Card benefits if they renew it after it expires. In 2015, the validity of the Mukhyamantri Amrutum card was changed to 3 years from the previously set mandate of 1 year.

Renewal of the MA Yojana card is quite simple and can be done by calling the customer service number or visiting the appointed kiosk. To complete the Mukhyamantri Amrutum Vatsalya renewal process, you need the following things.

  • Income Certificate
  • Previous MA Card

1. How many family members are covered under MA Yojana?

The Scheme covers 5 members of the family. In the case of a newborn baby, he/she will be considered as the 6th member.

2. Is there a waiting period for the coverage for Pre-Existing Diseases (PED)?

No, there is no Waiting Period for the coverage of Pre- Existing Diseases. They are covered from Day 1, under the MAA Amrutam card.

3. Which actions can be performed at a kiosk of Mukhyamantri Amrutum Vatsalya Yojana?

The beneficiary of the plan can visit the kiosk for carrying out any of the following actions: New Enrolment MA Amrutam Yojana Card Hot-listing (for lost cards) Split Card application for adding or deleting members Endorsing errors on MA Vatsalya Yojana Card Migration details

4. Can beneficiaries avail Cashless Treatment with MA Card?

Beneficiaries can get Cashless Treatment only at the government hospitals in case of the absence of the MA Card.

5. Is there any fees for issuing MA Cards?

No, you do not have to pay anything for MA Vatsalya Card issuance.
