In the co-payment clause, policyholders have to pay a preset amount (either compulsorily or voluntarily) of the hospitalisation expense on their own and the insurer will pay the rest of the medical bill amount.

What is the Sub limit?

Sub limit is a condition in which the insurer will have to pay the medical expense up to a certain percentage and the remaining amount will have to be paid by the policyholder. For instance, if your policy covers room rent for upto 20% of the sum insured, but the expense of the same is more than 25%, you will have to pay the rest amount, i.e. 5%, for your room rent.

Accidental Death In case of the insured’s death due to an accident, the insurer will pay out the specified sum insured amount to their nominee or dependants if the claim is made within 12 months of the accident.
Permanent Total Disablement (PTD) Suppose, the insured has met with an accident that caused him a permanent total disability, the company will compensate for the loss upto a specified limit, given the claim is raised within 12 months from the date of the accident.
Permanent Partial Disablement (PPD) In such scenarios of permanent partial disability, there will be a payout for the loss if the insured claims within 12 months of the accident. The maximum sum insured payable is not more than 100% of the specified conditions.
In-patient accidental hospitalization Any illness or injury caused due to an accidental event will be covered for its treatment expenses or medical hospitalization care specified as per week expenses (should not exceed 100 weeks in the policy term).
Modification of residence/vehicle In case the insured person needs any modification in his residence or vehicle after a permanent disability, the policy covers lifestyle changes.
Children education grant The insurer covers education or course fee expenses related to the insured’s dependent children. The maximum payout for an educational grant will be upto 100% of the sum insured (the maximum age specified as 25 years for dependent children).
