Intimate about the incident to the insurer as soon as possible. You can do this online by visiting the official website of Shriram General Insurance or over the phone by calling on the toll-free number.
You need to keep a few details handy during registration of a claim:
If the police fail to trace the stolen car, issue a Final Report from them confirming 'No Recovery' of the vehicle.
Get your car towed/drive to the nearest network garage authorized by the insurer. The company will allocate an inspector for the survey of the damaged vehicle and record the intensity and cost for repairs. He/she will then prepare a report and collect the necessary documents from you to submit it for further proceedings.
The company will verify the report as per the terms and conditions of the policy and check all the documents to process the claim. Once the claim is verified and accepted, it will be communicated to you over call/SMS/email (in your registered phone number/email id).
In case of a cashless claim, the claim amount will be directly settled with the network garage.
While in case of a reimbursement claim, you are required to pay the repair/replacement charges at the non-network garage and submit the bills or receipts to the insurer following the same above-mentioned process. On acceptance of the claim, the amount will be credited to the bank account of the policyholder.
