The Maruti Suzuki WagonR has two engine options – K10BE 1.0-litre petrol engine and K12M 1.2 litre petrol engine. The former engine variant provides a maximum power of 67bhp and maximum torque of 90Nm, and the latter offers a maximum power of 82bhp and peak torque of 113Nm. Furthermore, the engine displacement provided by K10BE variant is 988cc and 1197cc by that of K12M variant.

A forward wheel drive, the Maruti Suzuki WagonR comes with both manual and semi-automatic transmission paired with a 5-speed gearbox.

In terms of performance, the WagonR is known to provide 60% better mileage than that of any other hatchback. Where the petrol variants with both manual and semi-automatic transmission churn 22.5 km/l of mileage, the petrol engine with CNG gives approx 33.4 km/l of mileage. It can touch the top speed of 170kmph and can sprint from 0 to 100kmph in around 10 seconds.

Apart from the increase in its dimensions, the latest generation of WagonR has received a new design and style.
