Care Freedom Policy (formerly known as Religare Care Freedom Policy)

Care Freedom Policy provides an overall coverage to its insured with its individual and family floater options. The insured is free to choose the sum insured according to the requirement. This Health Insurance plan provide its insured with excellent coverage.

Features of Care Freedom Plan

The features of the plan have been listed below:

  • Grace Period
    A grace period of 30 days is provided to the insured so that in case the insured misses the renewal date he has the flexibility to pay the renewal premium in the grace period and prevent the policy from lapsing.
  • Renewal
    Care Freedom Policy comes with the option of a lifelong renewal option.
  • Free-look Period
    A free look period of 15 days is provided to the insured during which the policy buyer has an opportunity to cancel out the policy in case of any type of dissatisfaction.
  • Initial Waiting Period
    There is an initial waiting period applied to the plan. 30 days of the initial waiting period is to be served by the insured to make any kind of medical claim.
  • Waiting Period for Listed Diseases
    There is a list of diseases/illnesses for which there is a waiting period of 2 years. After serving this the insured can make claims concerning listed diseases. The insured should serve 2 years of continued coverage under the Care Freedom Plan.
  • Pre-Existing Diseases Waiting Period
    In case of any pre-existing disease or illness, the insured needs to serve a waiting period of 2 years. The insured should serve 2 years of continued coverage under the Care Freedom Plan.

Care Freedom Policy of Benefits/Coverage

  • IIn-Patient Care

    In-patient hospitalization cover is provided to the insured under Care Freedom Policy subjected to the condition that the hospitalization has been for continuously more than 24 hours. The coverage provided under this is up to the sum insured.
  • DayCare Treatment

    Daycare procedures are available under the Care Freedom Plan. The plan provides daycare procedures for more than 170 days. It is covered up to the insured sum limit.
  • Ambulance Cover

    The insured gets an ambulance expense cover for Rs. 1,000 per hospitalization for all the sum insured options.
Mediclaim policy
  • Recharge Of Sum Assured

    In the case of exhaustion of sum insured and other no claim benefits, there is a procedure under the Care Freedom Plan, under which 100% of the original insured sum limit is recharged.
  • Health Checkup

    All the insured under the plan are free to get health checkups on an annual basis.
  • Consumable Allowance

    The insured gets consumable allowance coverage and it is considered from the 3rd day of hospitalization. The insured gets this coverage for a maximum of 7 days per hospitalization.
    • Rs. 750 per day for SI Rs. 3 Lakhs
    • Rs. 1,000 per day for SI Rs. 5 Lakhs
    • Rs. 1,000 per day for SI Rs. 7 Lakhs/ 10 Lakhs
  • Companion Benefit

    All the members covered under the plan get companion benefit in case the hospitalization exceeds ten days.
    • Rs. 10,000 per day for SI Rs. 3 Lakhs
    • Rs. 15,000 per day for SI Rs. 5 Lakhs
    • Rs. 15,000 per day for SI Rs. 7 Lakhs/ 10 Lakhs
  • Pre-Hospitalization Expenses

    All the medical expenses incurred within 30 days before the hospitalization get coverage under the pre-hospitalization expenses cover.
  • Post-Hospitalization Expenses

    All the medical costings within 60 days from the date of discharge from the hospital are considered under post-hospitalization expenses to cover.
  • Domiciliary Hospitalization

    TThe insured gets domiciliary hospitalization coverage in case the patient is not in a condition to move or travel to the nearest hospital, or there is no availability of room in the hospital than in such a situation s/he needs to be treated at home and he gets up to 10% of sum insured covered after the 3rd day of hospitalization.
  • Dialysis Cover

    The insured gets the privilege under dialysis cover. He gets coverage up to Rs. 1,000 per sitting limited up to 24 consecutive months for all sum insured options and all policy tenures.

Exclusions of Care Freedom Policy

  • Self-inflicted injury treatment expenses.
  • Alcoholism and drug abuse case.
  • Injury due to participation in the war.
  • Any defense activity.
  • Medical costs incurred due to AIDs treatment.
  • Congenital diseases do not get coverage.
  • Tests and treatment relating to infertility
  • Treatments related to pregnancy, childbirth, miss-carriage, abortion, and its consequences.
  • Expenses of contact lenses, cost of spectacles, and dental treatment that does not require hospitalization.
  • Suicide Cases.
