How to Claim Star Health Insurance: Cashless Claim

The process of claims involves three-steps, informing the company, submitting the documents and verification of the document. Here are the steps that are followed for cashless claims:

Step 1: Inform The Company

At the time of hospitalization, contact the insurance desk of the network hospital and show your 'Star Health Card'. Intimation can be given either by calling on Star Health Insurance Toll-Free Number 1800 425 2255/ 1800 102 4477 or by emailing support@starhealth.in

The policyholder must inform the company 48 hours before in case of planned hospitalization and for emergencies inform the hospital 24 hours after the hospitalisation.

  • Visit The official website of the company.
  • Click on the 'Claim' option on the top menu of the webpage.
  • A drop-down menu will appear, Click on the 'Claim Intimation' option. Select 'Health Claim' on the next page.
  1. Patient Form: This action will lead you to the page, where the company has 'Patient Form'. Fill in the details in the form, 'Policy Number, Policy Type, Insured Patient Name, Intinator Phone Number, Patient Status, Attenders Mobile, Claim Type'. Click on the 'Authorize' tab.
  2. Admission Information: On the next page fill in the information in the form,' Date of Admission, Name Of the Hospital, Type of Treatment'.
  3. Review And Submit: Once again review the claim request and then click on 'Submit'.

Points to Consider:

  • The form has the option to fill in 'Patient Status' the intimidator has mentioned if the patient is 'Discharged' or 'Deceased'.
  • In the option 'Claim Type', the person has to mention where the request was raised for 'Cashless Claim or Reimbursement Claim'.

Step 2: Document Submission

At the time of discharge, collect all the documents from the hospital. At this stage of claim processing, the company will ask for valid documents related to hospitalization. The policyholder has to submit all the documents along with the pre-authorization form. The policyholder can submit the document to the TPA or can upload them on the official website of the company.

TPA will verify all the details on his level and then forward the claim request to the company.

Step 3: Verification

Star Health Insurance Company has a dedicated team to review the claim requests and documents related to the claim. On successful verification, the company will notify the policyholder through text message and email.

Note: If required the company can depute a field doctor, to visit the hospital, to conduct a thorough verification.

Step 4: Claim Settlement

Finally, the company will settle the claim with the customer by transferring the compensation amount, to the policyholder's bank account.

Star Health Insurance Reimbursement Claim Process:

It refers to the process where the insured pays for the medical expenses out of his pocket and later seeks compensation from the insurance company. Here are the steps involved in Star Health Insurance Reimbursement Process:

Step 1: Claim Intimation

After you get discharged from any of the non-network hospitals, inform your insurance provider within the next 15 days about your hospitalization. You can inform the company via call on the number 1800 425 2255 / 1800 102 4477. After the intimation, the company will provide you with a ‘Claim Number’ which will be asked for later when you will fill the claim filing form at the time of document submission. For informing the company through website, go through the following points:

  • For claim intimation visit the official website of the company.
  • Locate the 'Claims' option on the top menu of the webpage.
  • From the drop-down menu, click the 'Claim Intimation' option.
  • Fill in all the information in the 'Claim Intimation Form', such as 'Policy Type, Policy Number, Insured Patient Name, Patient Status and Claim Type'. Select 'Reimbursement Claim' under the 'Claim Type' option.
  • Fill in all the 'Admission Information, such as 'Name of the Hospital, Type of Treatment', and then 'Review' and 'Submit' the form.

Step 2: Document Submission

At the time of discharge, pay for the medical treatment and collect all the documents.

  • Submit all the documents such as discharge bills, pharmacy bills, reports, identity and address proof of the policyholder along with a duly filled claim form.
  • Visit the nearest branch of the company and submit the original documents within 30 days of claim intimation.
  • You can email the documents to the company as well on support@starhealth.in.

Step 3: Verification

Star Health Insurance will verify the documents and if necessary, the company can ask the policyholders for additional details. Once the documents are satisfactory, the company will inform the policyholder via email or on their registered mobile number.

Step 4: Claim Settlement

After going through all these processes, the company will finally settle the claim. The amount of the medical compensation will be sent to the policyholder's bank account.

The policyholder can submit their documents online through the official website of Star Health Insurance Company: Here are the steps to upload the document:
