For instance: Mayank owns savings of up to 10 lakhs or has an existing mediclaim cover of 10 Lakhs but he still feels this is not enough to meet the healthcare needs of his family. To deal with skyrocketing medical costs, he purchased Star Super Surplus top-up plan with a sum insured amount of 20 lakhs and a deductible of 10 Lakhs (existing cover). 1. What is the deductible in the star super surplus Insurance policy?

Deductible in the super surplus insurance policy is the medical expense amount that you need to pay on your own and the rest will be paid by the insurance company. The health insurance company will only pay the claim if it exceeds the deductible amount. Any claim that is less than or equal to the deductible amount will be rejected.

2. How does deductible work in Star Super Surplus?

It is a simple calculation of subtracting deductible amounts from your claim amount. For example, you choose a deductible of 1 lakh and your claim amount is 3 lakhs for a top-up sum insured of 6 lakhs. In this case, you will receive (3,00,000 - 1,00,000=2 lakhs) as a claimable amount under Star super surplus plan from the insurer.

3. Does the star health super surplus policy offer additional recharge benefits?

Star health super surplus coverage includes additional recharge benefits that can only be used after the basic sum insured has been exhausted.

4. What is an initial waiting period in a star super surplus health insurance policy?

An initial waiting period is a time in which you can not get any benefits from your health insurance policy. However, it will not apply to any health insurance claims related to accidental hospitalization. It is also known as the cooling period.

5. What is Co-payment and how will it affect my claim payment under Star super surplus?
